Future of Hope
The program specifically serves CSEC youth (Commercially Sexually Exploited Children) within the foster care and juvenile justice systems. According to the National Foster Youth Institute, up to 60% of child sex trafficking victims have been, or currently are, in foster care. Run 2 Rescue is addressing this issue head-on, providing trauma-responsive caseworkers who are also trained to offer informal counseling.
To date, Run 2 Rescue has worked with over 200 CSEC youth, the youngest being just 8 years old. Each caseworker is trained to address the unique needs of every individual, while also collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care. Through mentorship, advocacy, and informal counseling, Run 2 Rescue provides crucial support to young people who have experienced severe trauma.
Run 2 Rescue has developed a specialized curriculum to help youth process and understand their emotions. Our caseworkers meet youth where they are, guiding them through their trauma recovery at their own pace.
